When I called the Century 21 office in Appomattox, I briefly told the secretary about the property I had a question about. Without asking any questions, she transferred me to Doris who was very friendly. Doris answered
my questions without asking any personal questions. I really appreciated how professional she was. However, I decided against getting the property. When I visited it alone to see the location, there was a strong odor that smelled like unwashed body lingering outside the front door. While I didn't appreciate the omission from the listing about the odor, I would highly recommend this Century 21 location.

It's been a few years now since I dealt with Atkins Real Estate. They advertised the property that I looked at as having no issues. Upon looking at the place, it apparently had a rodent infestation from the obvious rat droppings on the kitchen floor. The place also had no water inside because when the well pump was turned on, the water poured under the house. It was apparent that the pipes had frozen and busted over winter. They did have the pipes fixed. But in the end, I decided not to get the property.
What really made me mad about this place was that the realtor kept my e-mail address. About a year and a half ago, I received an e-mail from him. It was spam! When I called the office, I was told that he had gotten a virus that sent the e-mail to everyone in his address book. Considering about 600 people now had my name and e-mail address, confidentially had gone out the window. I was really angry and the secretary acted like it was no big deal.

Realtors certainly have the right to make sure that they aren't wasting their time showing you a property. They generally ask if you have been pre-qualified by a bank and if you are working with an agent. But at least one agent at United Country takes this concept too far.
