Proctor & Gamble announced today that it has fired 500 robots from their plants. Proctor & Gamble prides themselves on producing quality products and in their press release says the robots were "getting rusty" and "not keeping up to standards." A few robots has been with Proctor & Gamble since the company's inception in 1837 and experts say that it will be harder for them to get new jobs.
Since the Y2K bug, it has been harder for old robots to reenter the work force and number are dropping at an alarming rate. In 2006 only 18 percent of robots who were let go found new jobs.
With technology improving daily, newer robots are entering the workforce causing shortage for other robots. Fortunately, some robots were able to secure jobs over the years with Honda Motor Company. Theses robots were able to evolve due to "The Power of Dreams."
