Elimination and Prevention of Finger and Toe Nail Fungus is a serious subject. If not promptly and properly treated this condition can lead to debilitating foot conditions that affect a persons ability to work and enjoy life.
Toe and fingernail fungus, technically called onychomycosis, has plagued humans as long as recorded history and probably before. There are too many supposed treatments and cures on the market, most of which work with dubious effectiveness. There are also ancient but newly revived
traditional treatments for this embarrassing condition on human hands and feet.
Fungi are quite prolific and difficult to eradicate. Lamisil - also known as terfinabine. This is taken orally for one to two weeks. It is supposed to be an antifungal agent that works only on nails and scalp or hair fungus problems. There are serious side effects and counter indications with this medicine and it should not be used without consulting with your family doctor.
Diflucan - also known as fluconazole is another oral antifungal medication. It is said to be able to treat fungus problems anywhere on or in the body. Doctors prescribe this to patients who also have low immune system problems. This also should not be taken accept under the care of your doctor.
Sporanox - also known as itraconazole but this is a seriously dangerous medication. It is mean for fungal infections in the lungs but has counter indication problems with heart medicines. Sporanox is a triazoles type medicine and its use is limited mostly to internal fungal infections.
