Ninja Chicken Halloween Costume: Make a Chicken Mask
Get a pair of cheap wrap-around sunglasses. Secure several layers of plastic wrap over the lenses with tape. Then cut 16 long strips of cardboard from cereal or gift boxes. Overlap these strips so that they make a star pattern. Punch a hole at the center and secure the strips with a brass fastener. Pull these strips down over your head and measure the bottom ends with a tape measure. Mark the area where the mask should end with pencil. Also mark where your eyes meet the front of the mask.
Weave in the other 4 strips of cardboard, taking care to keep your mask the right size. Secure them in place. Insert the sunglasses inside the mask at the eye mark, securing them with tape or glue.
Protect your workspace with newspaper. Dip cut up newspaper in water and wall paper paste, then apply them to the mask base. Avoid the eye area as much as possible. Allow the paper mache to dry completely. Carefully trim the region around the sunglass lenses with an Exacto knife and remove the plastic wrap. Cover the entire head in fake white feathers.
Cut a large chicken's comb out of cardboard. Attach red felt to both sides. Make red wattles from felt. Then make a beak out of cardboard and cover it with yellow felt. Secure these pieces to the mask with hot glue.
Ninja Chicken Halloween Costume: Make the Wings and Feet
Create two chicken wings from cloth. The cloth should completely cover your arms and get a bit larger as it nears your shoulder. If you like, you can create a feather design on the underside of the wing by cutting triangular shapes out of the cloth. If you don't know how to sew, secure the closure with hot glue. Cover the chicken wings with faux feathers.
