Golden State, who chanted "Sarah! Sarah! Sarah!" as they waited for her to come on stage.

Palin encouraged the adoring crowd to spend the final 31 days of the campaign spreading the word about what John McCain wants to accomplish for America. Palin praised McCain as a leader who isn't afraid to use the word "victory" in regards to the war in Iraq. She said she'd like to hear Obama say, just once, that he wants America to win the war, and criticized his votes to cut money from American troops.

Palin told the capacity crowd that she and John McCain were the only candidates in the election who have a track record for making change. She went on to share some of her own track record, including how she reduced taxes every year as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, and how she eliminated personal property taxes. "The phoniest claim you've heard during this campaign," said Palin, "is that Obama will cut taxes. He's built his whole career on raising taxes, even on the middle class." To deafening cheers, Palin said she and McCain will bring tax relief to all Americans, and will cut taxes for businesses so they can create more jobs for the American people.

Addressing energy, Palin promised that she and John McCain will put America on the path to energy independence, including more nuclear plants, and using American energy resources, produced by American workers. This, too, brought the house down with cheers of support.

Hey Kelly, looks like you were on the opposite end of the stadium from me. BTW those are the buttons we bought! Great job on covering the event; it was awesome, wasn't it? Like you said, very festive and upbeat - not angry, not offensive, just positive and proud. I did a piece too, but waited a whole week to submit, oh well...can't wait to read more of your stuff!
