MSG Poison?
Could MSG (Mono-Sodium Glutamate) be poison to our bodies? MSG is a food additive derived from glutamic acid and is used to enhance the flavor of food. Many have heard the name MSG before and have seen it in the food we eat. What many people do not know is that it could be harmful to our
bodies, and could even be responsible for many illnesses.
There have been studies around the world as early as the 1970's. It has been proven in mice and rats that MSG can cause obesity. They inject the mice and rats at birth with MSG to make them morbidly obese. MSG triples the amount of insulin the pancreas creates which causes the rats to become obese. Their name for these rats is 'MSG-Treated Rats'. Not only is MSG scientifically proven to cause obesity, it is also an addictive substance. Other studies link MSG to migraines and headaches, autism, ADHD, diabetes and Alzheimer's disease.
Is there a legitimate reason why MSG is in the food we eat? MSG manufactures admit it addicts people to the product, makes them eat more of the product and choose that product over another that does not contain MSG. Over the years MSG has been added in larger amounts to the food we eat. There is no limit set by the FDA on how much MSG can be added.
They claim it is safe to consume in any amount. Food manufactures and the medical research community have known about the side effects of MSG for decades, and still the food manufactures continue to use it in their products. With evidence of MSG being linked to many illnesses why would they continue to use it? How can they honestly say MSG is safe?
The media doesn't want to tell the public, most likely fearing issues with their advertisers. The fast food industry is huge in America; they've been serving us and our children MSG for years. There are more overweight and obese children and adults today, then there ever have been.
