A Year of Writing Novels - NaNoWriYe

So what is National Novel Writing Year? National Novel Writing Year is like National Novel Writing Month, which is held in November and started by writer Chris Baty. NaNoWriYe as it is called, is for writers who wish to enjoy the thrill of novel writing all year-round.

Perhaps you have done NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and you enjoyed this experience - and you'd like to continue this through the year. Many writers have commented that NaNoWriMo for them can be a very productive month, and that they look forward to it every year. Some people new to writing have been pleasantly surprised that they have been able to write a novel during the month. And some writers who have written a novel during the month, have actually published their NaNoWriMo novels! So NaNoWriYe could be a wonderful opportunity to continue writing novels during the year. Why not consider joining a writing group like this to set a writing goal - you may be amazed at just how much you are able to accomplish!

For NaNoWriYe you first begin by selecting a word count for the year. You are then placed in a "club", a group of other writers at that word count level. Each month you turn in your word count. Word counts for the year begin at 50 thousand but reach all the way up to three million and beyond.

Each word count level has its own forum section so you get to know writers at your own word count level. This is interesting because writers can be working in many different genres. But you are all working towards the same goal: that finish line at the end of the year.

You can write fiction and short stories for NaNoWriYe. You can also work on a work-in-progress for NaNoWriYe. The most important thing to do is to keep writing!
