Sometimes business meetings are an important aspect of people's jobs. Therefore, it's important to know how to handle yourself, what to say, but most importantly, what to wear! There are essentially a two types of business meetings that one could be asked to attend. One such meeting is casual, the other, professional. Therefore, it's important to know what to wear and what not to wear to any specific type of meeting.
If the meeting is casual and you are a guy
If you're a guy and the meeting you are being asked to attend is a casual one, then it is very important that you understand full well not to wear a business suit or anything that is too fancy. If you out-dress your boss or whomever it is that you are meeting, it tells that person or group of people that you're a bit pompous or somehow "better" than they are.
For a casual meeting, you don't want to dress down of course. Make sure you look half-way decent and not like you've just walked in from the street! A pair of nice slacks will do equipped with a leather belt- but not the real shiny type of leather belt.
You will also want to wear a dress shirt with no tie. Ties also scream "dress-up" so it's important not to wear one to a casual meeting. Make sure you don't button your dress shirt all the way to the top. Leave about two buttons open. Oh, and make sure you're wearing an under-shirt. Showing chest hair isn't a good a sign.
If the meeting is casual and you are a girl
If you're a girl and the business meeting you are attending is of a casual nature, follow the same rules for a guy- don't over dress!
It is also important that ladies don't wear jeans to a casual meeting. Instead, wear a nice skirt or a nice pair of slacks. As for your top, keep it plain and simple. A t-shirt could work, but it must be a solid color with no writing on it. Remember, a casual business meeting is still a business meeting none the less. So you want to make sure you don't look like a slob.
If the meeting is formal and you are a guy
