Weather Forecast Icon Halloween Costume: A Clever Costume Idea

OK, so it's hard to be something original for Halloween. How about being a weather forecast icon? Yes, one of those little "partly cloudy" symbols or "scattered showers." I don't know if you've ever seen one of those before during Halloween, but I haven't. Here is what you need to do:

Materials: 

• 1 Styrofoam board. Approximately, 2 foot high x 3 feet wide. 2"inch thick.

• 3 Cans of different color spray-paint (ex. black, yellow and blue)

• 1 Pyrography tool or gun (usually used to design on wood)

• 1 Regular kitchen knife

• 1 Roll of duct tape

• 1 pair of pant suspenders

• 1 Thick permanent marker

Procedure:

1- Browse through the internet until you find a weather forecast icon that you like. I recommend you make a 'partly cloudy' symbol with the temperature on the bottom right corner.

2- Then you either print the enlarged icon or you draw it freehand on your Styrofoam board with a permanent marker. If you decide to print it you can then trace it over your Styrofoam board.

3- Then use the cans of spray-paint to color in your icon including the temperature. You might want to use paper or tape to cover the parts of your icon you do not wish to color. The idea is to stay within the lines.

4- To be able to cut out the silhouette of your weather forecast icon you use the Pyrography tool or if you don't have one you can heat up a nail held with a pair of pliers. You use the hot object to outline your icon. The object (nail or Pyropgraphy tool) has to hot enough to easily cut through the Styrofoam. When that's done you use the kitchen knife if the board is too thick.

5- Once the weather forecast icon is colored in and cut out you have to wear it! So put on the pair of suspenders and use the duct tape to attach you giant icon to the suspenders. Voila! Your probably the only partly cloudy icon in town.
