Christmas Tree Farms Not Too Far from Lake Charles, Louisiana

If you are in Lake Charles, LA and you want to go to a Christmas tree farm, you have to travel outside of the city. However, there are Christmas Tree farms located in Southwest Louisiana.

In Allen Parish, there's Grant Christmas Tree Farm and Syrup Mill. It is located 17030 Hwy. 10 in Pitkin, LA. This is between DeRidder and Oberlin on Hwy 377.

The trees available are the Leighton Green and the Castlewallan Gold. These are both cultivators of Leyland Cyprus. The average prices of the trees are $25 for a 5 foot tree, $48 for a 7 foot tree, and $90 for a 10 foot tree.

Activities are the Fall Harvest Festival which takes place on the three Saturdays following Thanksgiving, school tours that run at about $3 per child, and a gift shop full of unique gifts.

In Rapides Parish, there's Milton's Christmas Tree Farm. It is located 1605 Hwy 457 in Lecompte, LA 71346. This is located five miles south of Alexandria.

The types of tree available are Eastern Red Cedar, Leyland Cyprus, and Virginia Pine.

There is also Peachy Pines. It is located at 100 Locker Rd. in Deville, LA 71328. To get there, go to Pineville and take LA 107 to Ruby Wise School and follow the signs. This Christmas Tree farm is open the day after Thanksgiving to December 25th.

In Vermillion Parish, there's Vincent Christmas Tree Farm. It is located at 17015 W. Hwy 700 in Kaplan, LA 70548. To get there LA 35 north of Kaplan, go 2 miles and turn right onto LA Hwy 700, then go 1 mile and turn right to get to the Christmas Tree Farm.

The varieties of trees available are Leyland Cypress, Spruce Pine, Silver Smoke, Carolina Sapphire, Deodar Cedar, and Virginia Pine. Pre-tagging begins the first weekend in November.

In Vernon Parish, there's Sanders Christmas Tree Farm. It is located at on Hwy 171 south of Hornbeck, LA. Virginia Pines and Leyland Cypruses are available.
