This past week my boyfriend and I took our first trip to the Bahamas. We choose to stay at Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach, however we did not plan on staying at the resort the entire time, as we wanted to get a sample of what the island had to offer by doing a few excursion's.

Although we were disappointed to learn that not a soul knew about the East End Safari Blue Holes tour, we were still able to find other excursion's and tours offered on the island.

One of those excursion's was recommended to us by out hotels customer care. She gave us a book filled with different excursion's and tours she could book for us.

One tour that looked extremely appealing was a Paradise Cove Tour. This tour is basically a 6 hour tour where Paradise Cove Beach Resort picks up guests from other hotels for the snorkeling tour at Paradise Cove. The tour included transportation, food, and snorkeling gear for those who booked. The price for all of this was just $35.00, which sounded too good to be true.

What Is Paradise Cove?

Paradise cove is one of the many near deserted beaches you can find on Grand Bahama Island. The beach itself features white sands, and is the home of the well known reef called Deadman's Reef.

According to the brochure of the tour to Paradise Cove, Deadman's Reef is one of the best known spots for snorkeling. (I'll get into my feelings about that further more into the review).

To book a tour call 1-242-349-2677. Likely any hotel you are staying at in Grand Bahama Island will have a brochure with information on this tour though, and likely your hotel will book it for you as well.

Our hotel booked the tour for us, however we ran into a problem immediately. The Paradise Cove Tours would not pick us up at Viva Wyndham Fortuna Resort because we did not have a party of 6, and it was too far away from Paradise Cove.

Instead we were told to meet them at the Westin hotel located in Port Lucaya. So although transportation was supposed to be from our hotel, to Paradise Cove, it never happened. We had to pay a $24 round trip to and from the Westin in order to go on the tour. Had there been a party of 6 from our resort, they would have came and got us, seeing how it was just 'us' they refused.
