It has been anticipated that Christianity either evolved from or was strongly influenced by one or more of the non-Judaic religions during its young life. Even though these theories are not generally accepted by the conventional scholarly communities and religious institutions, they have acquired and continue to take pleasure in support from a minority of scholars.

The Jewish people were told repeatedly not to mix themselves with other pagan societies, and sure enough almost always had bad things befall them when they did. But the early Christians seem to have done the same thing.
