Seeing Ben Roethlsberger have the kind of a game he did fantasy football wise in Week 5 of the fantasy football season was depressing for me given the fact that I had benched him this week in favor of Phillip Rivers. Phillip Rivers would go on to have a sub par game versus the suddenly competitive Miami Dolphins. Fantasy football players should take note of Mewelde Moore, the kid from the University of Tulane who may become an emerging star for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the coming weeks. Moore was a player who never got much of a chance with the Minnesota Vikings, but he may become another option for the Steelers in the coming weeks. The Steelers do have a bye in regards to Week 6 however.

Brett Favre is coming off the bye week for the Jets. With a relatively soft schedule in coming weeks Favre might be someone you would want to look at picking up if available on waivers. J.P. Losman for the Buffalo Bills may be another guy worth taking a risk on at quarterback given the uncertain status of fantasy football star this year Trent Edwards. J.P. may be auditioning for a high paying elsewhere and he is already on a competitive team so look for him to put up some good fantasy football numbers if he does play.

Another running back to highlight is of course Tim Hightower, the rookie for the Arizona Cardinals. Fantasy football owners are well aware of Hightower at this point with his high amount of touchdowns so this can't be that big of a secret anymore. He is a facing a pretty solid Dallas defense this week so Hightower may be someone to sit for this Week Six of the NFL when it comes to fantasy football. Cedric Benson seems to have resurfaced with the Bengals despite his drunk driving issues so if you wanted to just give him a shot at running back it may be worth a look. Chris Perry, formerly of the Michigan Wolverines appears to have trouble hanging on to the ball. By the start of Week 6 you should not have trouble fumbling the ball given the fact that you want to be a starting running back in the NFL.

Takeaways
  • Tim Hightower went to Richmond
  • Phillip Rivers can be boom or bust.
