It's hard to hear the word Santa without also hearing the word Christmas. Santa is a big part of Christmas for many people. During the holiday parties, I like to serve individual Santa Christmas party cakes. Everyone can help themselves to delicious and fun individual Santa Christmas party cakes without having to worry about cutting a large cake. You can make them ahead of time and have ready for visitors to enjoy with coffee or hot tea or save them for your Christmas parties.

Selecting the Flavor of the Cake for Individual Santa Christmas Party Cakes

You can use strawberry cake, white cake or chocolate cake for the individual Santa Christmas party cakes. Which flavor you use completely depends on the Christmas crowd you are baking for each year. The good news is you can do a different flavor for different Christmas parties during the holiday festivities and fun.

Baking the Individual Santa Christmas Party Cakes

You will need two to four rectangular cake baking pans for the individual Santa Christmas party cakes. Follow the directions on the box for mixing the cakes and pour into thin layers in the pans. You want to do about half the amount of cake mix that you would do for a traditional cake. If the recipe calls for water, use milk instead for a richer flavor and moister cake.

Let the Cakes Cool and Dust

After the cakes have baked to a light color and let them cool. Remove them from the rectangular baking pans. Take a clean, lint-free towel and completely dust off the cakes. This will reduce the amount of crumbs that you have in the crumb layer.

Place the dusted cakes in the freezer for approximately thirty minutes. Place a thin layer of icing over the cakes.

Cutting the Individual Santa Christmas Party Cakes

Using a Santa face cookie cutter, cut out Santa faces from the lightly iced cakes. Set the individual Santa Christmas party cakes on cookie sheets to decorate.
