1. Star Jones and Barbara Walters

Star who?? Ah, how easily we forget!

In summer of 2006, Star Jones of The View resigned from the show, before she could officially be fired. It seems that Barbara Walters and company were a tad tired of Star's shameless self-promotion, especially during the preparation for her nuptials, and some of her politically inflammatory remarks on certain issues of the day.

It seems that Babs was not pleased about Star jumping the gun with the announcement of her departure, as the show allegedly wanted her to go out with dignity, with the obligatory, insincere "send-off" show.

While Ms. Walters started the day following Ms. Jones's flamboyant exit with a stinging denouncement of the diva, claiming that she felt "betrayed", Star went on the defense by going on Larry King to describe her own issues of betrayal.

This feud was a hot news item for awhile, but it quickly fizzled out within a matter of weeks and now your guess is as good as mine regarding the career and personal status of Star Jones.

Fickle, fickle fame!

2. Rosie O'Donnell and the World

The View seems to have been a hotbed of contention in 2006.

Ever since joining the show as one of its co-hosts, Rosie O'Donnell's candid and, often, over-the-top remarks have put her at odds with several celebrities.

First, before even coming aboard the show, she made less than kind remarks about then co-hostess of The View Star Jones, insinuating that Ms. Jones was not being truthful about how she lost weight. Then she made remarks, suggesting that Oprah Winfrey and friend Gail King were "in the closet" lesbians. Next, there was her unfounded accusation that Kelly Ripa's offense at Clay Aiken's putting his hand over her mouth was based on "homophobia".

Very clever, excellent choices... I kept hearing about the Ripa/Aiken feud, but never knew what it was about. I'm going to look for that on youtube.
