The Mask

There was a mask that had the ability to control whoever put it on. The mask was heavy but behind it man could hide. A man finds this mask and wears it to hide the true person behind the mask. With the mask on this man can do anything, go anywhere and be anyone he wants. Little does he know that the longer he wears this mask the more he becomes the mask.

The mask brought this man friends and money. The mask brought the man everything he had ever wanted. However this mask took away one thing the man thought he would never loose...control.

At first it was little he could put the mask on and take it off whenever he wanted. Around his mask friends he would wear the mask and around his unmasked friends he would take the mask off.

Every time the man put the mask on a piece of the unmasked man died giving the mask ultimate control to dictate and control the mans life. After a short period of time the man could not take the mask off. He began to hear his mask friends complain about how their masks were heavy. He had worn his for so long that he had not noticed the neck cramp that it gave him. The mask was so heavy it put so much pressure on him that it literally hurt his heart.

The man tried to control the mask and take it off around his unmasked friends. What would they think if they found out I wore a mask? He wondered. He could not get the mask off. He cried and cursed allowed. Cursed be the person who gave me this mask, which has brought me so much pain and emptiness. Sadly he had the mask on for so long that he forgotten that it was himself who picked up the mask and put it on him.

The man had tried for too long to live two different ways; masked, and unmasked. In the end the one who he gave the most attention to won. You see he had more fun with his masked friends. His unmasked friends were kind of weird and annoying. Little did the man know that his masked friends were just like him though, telling themselves they would do whatever it takes to get rid of the mask that has taken control over their lives. The man did everything he could to get rid of the mask...except ask the only person who was strong enough to take it from him.
