Heroes Episode 3.4 Review I Am Become Death
Embed:
The fourth episode of season three of Heroes aired on October 6th, 2008. The episode is titled I Am Become Death and centers around Peter trying to figure out how to save the world, again. Warning: my episode review contains plot spoilers. I Am Become Death is a confusing episode that raises more questions about the Heroes and Villains. Future Peter takes Present Future to four years into the future to show him that the world is a terrible place and needs saving. Present Future is a bit confused because New York looks pretty normal until he sees people flying all over the place. The formula has gotten out and anyone can buy an ability for the right price. As Future Peter is trying to explain why this is bad Claire shoots and kills Future Peter. Present Peter manages to escape and learns from a disfigured Mohinder where Sylar is. Peter now thinks he needs Sylar's power of seeing how things work in order to save the world.
The future world is very confusing because at first Claire appears to be bad because after all she killed Peter but it turns out Future Peter is actually the villain (in the governments eyes). Apparently Future Peter is trying to correct some bad mistakes he made. The world seems to be happy with the powers but Future Peter still thought the widespread distribution of abilities is what causes the world to end. At this point of the episode by boyfriend gave up trying to understand the episode and left the room. Yeah I can understand his confusion but I think the writers are trying to point out that the lines between good and evil are very grey. Future Claire seems to be unhappy but she still doesn't want Peter to change the future (her future). Claire is working with supposed villains so exactly who is good and who is evil is very unclear in the future.
