"The talking oak to the ancient spoke. But any tree will talk to me." No matter how silent the existence of trees and plants is, their presence in any location adds a touch of the exotic and a healthy dose of green. With high rises everywhere and every city turning in to a concrete jungle, little potted plants placed in strategic locations give a breather to sore eyes.Plants along with being a fresh source of oxygen can play an interesting part in changing the look of an apartment or a condominium. Their role in sciences of Vaastu Shastra, as well as Feng Shui is also well established. Plants in short, whether big or small, tropical or from temperate climates, can add charisma to an otherwise dull and boring area in the house.
Houseplants are great for decorating ideas, as they can be placed anywhere in a home whether the bedroom, living room, bathroom or kitchen. The needs of houseplants are quite basic -- light, water and nutrition (good soil and fertilizer composition). Plants suitable for homes include daffodils, hyacinths, orchids, ferns, begonias, bonsais and other indoor plants that do not require much direct sunlight and can thrive well in an enclosed environment. Plants have the ability to transform any area that they are placed in. Plants placed strategically can create the illusion of space or fill in an odd corner, giving the room a feeling a being cozy and complete. A simple example would be placing a light-coloured plant next to a shoe rack, which will get rid of the drab look that a shoe rack generally creates.
A house with well-planned flowering plants not only enhances the aesthetic beauty of the place, but contributes considerably to the environment. A small pot of flowering plant on a window rack gives a very cozy feel to the room. It should be kept in mind though that those flowering plants do require a certain level of attention.
