Esquire Magazine Names Its Sexiest Woman Alive in November Issue

The votes are in, and Esquire Magazine has chosen who they think is the "Sexiest Woman Alive." Halle Berry will grace the cover of the November 2008 issue of Esquire Magazine, wearing her new crown as the "Sexiest Woman Alive." Rumors have it that she will be wearing "little more than a T-shirt", and that she is extremely happy about being the magazine's selection.

The choice by Esquire is a good one, as Halle Berry is extremely beautiful, but it may surprise some people who read the magazine. She isn't one of the young pop-princesses or the newest teen queen, but rather a 42-year old who just gave birth to a baby girl in March. Her daughter's name is Nahla, who she has with partner Gabriel Aubry on March 16, 2008.

Halle Berry is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and before she broke into acting, was 1st runner-up for Miss USA in 1986 and then later a model. She still serves as a model for cosmetics, but has really made her mark in Hollywood. Having stared in such films as X-Men, Swordfish, Bulworth, and The Flintstones, she really made her mark in the 2001 film Monster's Ball. For her heart-wrenching turn as mother Leticia Musgrove, she took home the Academy Award for Best Actress. The Oscar win made her the first African-American women to ever win the honor, and really helped her make roots in Hollywood.

Recently, Berry has been seen in X-Men: The Last Stand, and will star in the film Frankie and Alice in 2009, a story about a young woman with multiple personality disorder.

Berry has taken her latest award for "Sexiest Woman Alive" in stride, stating that "I share this title with every woman, because every woman is a nominee for it at any moment."
