Melting economy, layoffs, unemployment, bankruptcy and financial turmoil - truly these are conundrums facing us today with little or no answers threatening our basic sense of security. It is human to feel uncertain about what the future holds for us and our children. The unpredictive social situation makes us wonder about job security, survival and several other things. It is quite normal to feel this way but we as believers should also know to armor and brace ourselves as to what the word of God assures us in times of trials. Ephesians 6:13 says "Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." It is very easy to start reacting to the situation just as the world reacts but it is during times like these we need to keep our feet grounded and stand erect and act as beacons of light in a dark world. This statement is in no way to make parody of the brunt of reality we are facing but rather urging fellow Christians to stay focused on God. The Bible does not assure a trouble free life but His word does promise that we will find comfort in times of trouble. 1 Peter 5:10 says "But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you]."

We worship a great God who is so real and sovereign and who will not forsake us without a way for escape. No matter what we might go through in life He is faithful to see us through. Are we exhibiting that demeanor that pleases our Almighty? If we are steadfast through these difficult times we will see the light at the end of the tunnel.

So keep up the faith and we will emerge victorious.

Stay Blessed
