Take a piece of paper that is twice the size that you want your card to be and fold it in half. This is your main part of the pop-up Christmas card. Take another piece of paper in the same color or a different color if you wish and cut it into a shape like for instance a Christmas tree. Fold the Christmas tree in half and glue it on the first paper so that the fold is in the same place as the fold on the main paper but have the fold on the Christmas tree fold in the opposite direction as the main papers fold. You can have tabs on the Christmas tree to use to glue on the main paper with.

You can use any shape you want in your homemade pop-up Christmas card like a bell, star or Santa Clause. You can also take a strip of paper about two inches long and half inch wide and fold it like an accordion. Then glue one side of the accordion paper strip on the main card and a shape of your choice on the other side of the accordion so that when someone opens the card the accordion makes the shape pop up.

Make your card any way you want with pieces of ribbon attached to the card. You can also use buttons or beads, cotton, tinsel or tiny pieces of cloth to dress up your homemade pop-up Christmas card.
