Yoga teachers like to say that children are natural yogis. If you closely watch your children when they are playing and being silly, you too will notice some basic yoga postures, or asanas that babies, toddlers and children do naturally. The most obvious is the child's pose. Another pose you may see a toddler take is the Downward facing dog, or to squat very low to the ground.
Because children are naturally flexible and open-minded yoga is an ideal form of physical activity that will suit them. The following yoga studios in Massachusetts offer yoga classes for babies, toddlers and children.

The Arlington Center
(www.arlingtoncenter.org)
mail@arlingtoncenter.org
368 Massachusetts Avenue
Arlington, Massachusetts 02474
(781)316-0282
The Arlington Center offers Yoga for children ages 3 and up (with parent), and for ages 8-12. Because children in these age groups tend to move fast, this yoga class for kids is intended to help slow down their movement, and and help them balance their energy. Child students will revel in their yogic exploration of flexibility and concentration.
They also offer Relative for Kids, intended for children 3-4 and 5-7. While it is not a yoga class, students will learn to explore movement, and incorporate balance, coordination and cooperation skills. The class also seeks to help kids with lengthening their attention span, and building their self-esteem.
