Everyone loves the Halloween season. With the spooky witches that grace your front door to the ghosts hanging in your trees. However, not everyone loves to shop for pre-made decorations because you don't get that homemade feel to them and on top of that it can cost some pretty good money for those neat looking decorations you find in the Halloween isle at Wal Mart. I would like to give you some ideas on how to create spooky, unique, and fun decorations for Halloween with items laying around your house, or inexpensive items that you can find at any local craft store.

Homemade Halloween Decoration Idea #1:
Flying Ghosts
I am sure you have at least one tree in your yard, but if you don't these can be hung anywhere in your house that you have room for. First you will need some supplies:
1-Old White Flat Bed Sheet
2-Black Permanent Marker
3-Cheap Bag of Round White Balloons
4-String (white thread would be preferable)
5-Wire Coat Hangers (number of these needed will be determined on how many ghost you will actually make)
6-Paper Clips (if hanging them inside)

First decide how many ghost you want to create. Next, take your flat sheet and cut out as many sections as you will need to make the desired number of ghosts. Preferably a complete square cut out will work the best. It will give you equal amount for the ghost all around. The size of the squares will be determined by you as well. Bigger squares equal bigger ghosts, as well as smaller squares will equal smaller sized ghosts.

Next you will need to blow up as many balloons as you have square sheet cut outs. If you want you ghosts head to be big, then blow up the balloon as much as you possibly can. If you want the head to be small then don't fill that balloon up all the way. After you have blown the balloons up to the desired size and tied the end in a knot, take one of the square sheet cut outs and place the center of the cut out directly on top of the balloon. Bunch up the sheet at the bottom of the balloon and use your thread to tie it off to form the head. The bottom half will then hang for the body. Try to pull the tied end of the balloon (access balloon) through before tying the thread tightly.
