New Baggage Rules Mean Big Bucks & Big Headaches
How to Travel Light
Embed:
The airlines have changed the baggage rules - AGAIN. A majority of the major domestic carriers are allowing domestic travelers to check only one piece of baggage per economy fare traveler and it won't be long before they have all adopted the one bag rule. Most are now charging up to $50 EACH WAY for the second bag, but that is just half of the bad news, especially for families with children. If you have to check a second bag you will not be able to check-in curbside anymore. So in addition to having to pay an additional $50 to bring a second piece of luggage, you will also have to wait on line at the airport to pay the fee each time you check in.
Travel experts are already predicting jammed flights and delays for customers. Now you can add long baggage check lines to the predicted difficulties as travelers who once checked baggage at the curb now line up in the airport to pay.
The solution is traveling lighter. The question is how to lighten your load. Here are some tips that might help.
Pay Attention To Your Luggage - Your luggage should be lightweight, within allowable size dimensions and have efficient packing space. It might be time for a new suitcase.
Pack Efficiently - By rolling your clothing and using other packing techniques you can get more into your suitcase. Lay out the things you need to take with you and spend some time "practicing" your packing.
