Esquire has named the stunning 42 year-old actress the sexiest woman alive. That is pretty impressive. Considering that industry has such a morbid fascination with youth I would say this is one of Halle Berry's greatest achievements. We won't even mention Catwoman. It is good to see she is still being recognized as a looker. Halle was becoming a popular choice for chocolate lab dog names. Not that it was ever intended as a negative connotation. I am sure the owners would tell you their pooches are beautiful.

It is interesting that Esquire is able to nail down their selection to a single person. I have always believed that the selection of one person on the entire planet is incredibly presumptuous. I'm sure the title will carry with it tremendous endorsement opportunities. Her face will appear on the next high tech sports ankle braces. Wherever she lives will probably become the most visited city in world history. Old Barney Miller cast members will show up in the latest beauty ads gawking at Ms. Berry as she goes strolling by. Her face will show up on a list of monthly moon signs somewhere instructing other women how to conduct themselves and what astrological signs they are most likely to marry.

I would imagine the promotional opportunities behind the title are tremendous. It's interesting to think how other big name starlets feel about it. Jennifer Lopez is a paparazzi favourite and probably fancies herself deserving of the title. Now she may not be able to tell you how many baseball teams are in the American league but I can assure you many a man wished he could have gotten to first base with her. Jennifer is sexy but not like Halle. Jennifer is lucky she has a career. She has a rump like she has enjoyed many big apple donuts and coffee. I say that not because it matters, only because the fascination with looks has gotten way out of hand.
