Being a Tween at Halloween may be another in between age group situation. Parents can solve this by hosting a Progressive Halloween Party especially for Tweens. A Progressive party moves from one house to another with different Halloween events and food provided a tween party host. Here are some parent tips on setting up a Halloween Progressive party for your teen.
Progressive Halloween Party Tip #1
Find three other parents to host the party with you. Each host must be willing to offer up their home for part of the party for however many tweens you agree to invite. When you have hosts in place, line up extra parent volunteers for transportation.
Progressive Halloween Party Tip #2
Determine how many tweens to invite and coordinate with their parents on pick up, transportation and general party rules. DO this in advance of setting the mapped out locations for parents providing transportation and before deciding which party house will be first on the progressive party list.
Progressive Halloween Party Tip #3
Pick a Halloween Theme for the Progressive Tween Party. Maybe you want to use a fifties costume theme, a football related theme, Disney, or some other theme where costume ideas are plentiful. Try to choose something you can work your snacks and games around.
Progressive Halloween Party Tip #4
Get the invitations out early. Identify who the tween is to call if they are interested in attending and coordinate transportation, or parent drop off at the first house. If the parent is not a part of the party, they should be informed who will be providing transportation for their child and obtain written consent for such. Inform each tween to bring two bags of wrapped candy. These should be collected upon arrival and provided to the host of the final stop on the Halloween progressive party.
