I love Halloween. For me it is the unofficial start of the Holiday season. I have to restrain myself from decorating at the beginning of September. I love almost everything about the holiday. Spooky decorations, horror movies, ghost stories, pumpkins, but most especially Halloween music. I love to play ghoulish music throughout the month of October to get everyone in the mood, not that the kids need any help, but I figure maybe I can scare a tad bit more enthusiasm out of my dear husband with my witchy symphony. I have several dollar store Halloween CD's including spooky sound effects and eerie music, as well as some fun Halloween essentials I took the time to download to my MP3 player. When the big night finally arrives not only do my creepy tunes set the mood for our family Halloween party, but I also set up a boombox outside to welcome Trick or Treaters. If you want to brew up some family fun this Halloween, I suggest investing in some macabre melodies to get your spooky soiree underway. You can start by downloading my Top 10.

#10- Ride of the Valkyries

Let's start with a real classic. This Wagner piece will really set the tone for a wild and scary night. You can go with a classical rendition or you can try the spiced up version on the album Halloweenby Manheim Steamroller

#9- Toccata and Fugue in D Minor

What Halloween would be complete without Dracula's classic theme song? This Bach organ piece is definitely a Halloween essential. Again you have plenty of renditions to choose from but I recommend the Manheim Steamroller version.

#8- Funeral March of the Marionette

Sticking with the classics, this Gounad piece is probably best known as the theme from Alfred Hitchcock presents. It was personally chosen by Hitchcock and is one of my favorites. It was originally meant to tell the story of the funeral march of a marionette killed in a duel. This is another piece included on the Manheim Steamroller Halloween album, but is also available on AMC Presents Halloween Hits: Music for a Monster Fest.

#7- Tubular Bells
