In the past few weeks our nation has taken some major hits in the financial markets. Many of us have went through all kinds of emotions. Emotions like fear, frustration, anxiety, and anger have lead us to be irritable with our co-workers, friends, and family. People that we have put in elected positions appear to be making decisions that we are uncertain about. Bailout plans are being made with our money at the cost of our future generations of family members. Even our own dreams of staying in our homes, going to college, and just having an opportunity to work are being challenged.
It would appear that whoever is our next President is unsure of which direction to go on many issues. Still in a few weeks, we have to decide on who is best for our country. It is our decision. There are some of us that are more worried about our own problems, much less who is going to be our next leader. With the way things have been happening lately, I can understand that.
This country has faced some pretty tough choices in generations past. People that were citizens of this country long before we arrived also had to make decisions. I just imagine that decisions made in 1776, 1860, 1914, 1939, 1941, and 2001 were hard to do as well.
Still this country persevered. As Americans, we know how to make adjustments to get by. We know how to budget, to go without, and to improvise when certain situations arise that we often think we can't control.
When we look at other countries around the world, they are envious of what many of us have in the ways of wealth. However, we have something more valuable than just wealth, homes, food, and jobs. We have basic freedoms to determine our outcomes. Remember everything that we have comes from our foundation of freedoms that we have fought for over the years. These freedoms control our destiny. One of those is voting.
I know one important factor. We are only as strong as we are here at home. When we start diluting our military and spreading ourselves to thin by overspending, or giving our assets away, and turn from releigon, we place ourselves in harms way.
