Now that the flurry of gift giving and buying is finally over, it's likely that you and your enthusiastic gift receivers have a stack of gift cards on your hands. According to the Deloitte Holiday Annual Survey, 2005 gift card spending resulted in an average of 4.9 cards purchased per person to become the No. 1 gift purchase for the year. 2006 figures have yet to be reported, but the forecast predicted even higher numbers.
