When Lunen came of old to dance
With glimmers through the night
A fire burst upon the black
Our star: Soelee the bright

Her birth was like a tear in space
Through which an ember gleams
Then blazes all about with flame
Within a wreath of beams

She sailed upon this sea of stars
Her wake - a glowing shine
And round her danced these steady orbs
Oesha, Neldos, Eledenine

And when the first ones came to walk
Upon this world of ours
They looked into the sky with awe
At the blaze of summer's star

So for ages few have known
She rode upon the night
In her glory all alone
No night stars in her sight

Till the betrayer took our moon
Our Eledwiel the fair
Set her mountains all to burn
Her creatures to the spiders' snare

Then all around and black with cloud
Her face shot through with red
Like blood that clots on blackened wound
Upon a corpse long dead

There armies rose of the deceived
Of angels lost to ill
To plots of Gorthar lord of death
And Chromnos - lord of will

They set their plot for father's end
And great mother's rape
By threat made to this fairest world
For Oesha they would take

But angels fair - of light and song
Spied and heard their plot
They warned the father in the skies
And brought their schemes to naught

So battle came ere fallen angels
Dark or ever pale
Could bring their deadly might to bear
And set the world to fail

They were cast beyond the skies
Outside the starlight night
And there were locked till all things end
Never to again know light

As a guard 'gainst their return
The father's watch was made
For Oerin blue-eye opened wide
His gaze upon the gate

That leads into the paths of night
Where the dim things lurk
Protecting those who know them not
Who walk on Oesha's earth

So now beside Soelee he shines
Our second gleaming sun
That adds his soft light to her bright
And through the gloaming runs

This almond rim with long blue lash
That waves upon the dark
Gleaming whiteness for his heart
His shine - a rain of sparks

I love how most of the suggested, supposedly "related," articles have to do with the Phoenix Suns basketball team. Ha! This poem just makes me smile. It transported me far, far away...and I needed to get away for a couple minutes, so thank you! (Why haven't I bought your book yet? What's wrong with me?)
