A Case for Vegetarianism
Telling the Truth

I implore you to watch the brief video "Meet Your Meat" which can be found at the following link: http://www.chooseveg.com/animal-cruelty.aspA picture is worth a thousand words and there are absolutely no words that can be used to effectively describe the impact of this short film. However, I can tell you that every day animals are stripped of all dignity, made to live in filthy, cramped quarters, horribly abused and dismembered, beaten, shocked, removed from their loved ones, denied veterinary care, and killed by terrible means, such as being boiled to death, often while fully conscious. Could you imagine if these horrors were suffered by you or your loved one? Animals have emotions and nerves, just as humans do, so why should such treatment be permitted to occur? In addition, the environmental impact of this industry is terrible. The expenditure of fossil fuels for the production of meat is enormous, as is the amount of water that is wasted. http://www.chooseveg.com/conservation.asp
Having watched "Meet Your Meat" in addition to other videos like it, and learned about the horrors associated with the meat industry, I became irate that I was not told the truth sooner. I feel that a grave injustice was done to me and continues to be done to millions of others. I should have known the facts about how animals are mistreated and slaughtered as well as the negative environmental impact of this industry as a child so that I could make an informed decision about whether or not I wanted to eat meat. I am sickened by the number of animals lives taken by my consumption of meat. I contributed to the horrific treatment and needless maiming, torture and killing of thousands of animals.
