The main attraction in Acapulco is the beautiful beaches where surf and sun is only part of the fun. Caleta Beach, one of the most popular in Acapulco, is great for families and kids. One problem with this beach is that vendors feel free to approach swimmers and sunbathers at any time, causing an almost constant interruption. Still, the beach is friendly and roomy.

Icacos Beach, in front of La Palapa Hotel, is loved by many teens on spring break. Crowded and alive, the beach is perfect for parasailing and swimming. Condesa Beach, at the center of Acapulco Bay, is popular with locals and tourists alike. Again, expect to see many vendors approach you during your time here.

Puerto Marques is located along the route to the airport and features calm waves and plenty of sunshine. The area is picturesque and serene. Revolcadero Beach, near the Princess Hotel and airport is fairly private as beaches go. If privacy and less traffic is your wish, this is the perfect spot. Pie de la Cuesta is where many visitors go to see the beautiful Mexican sunset. The waves can be treacherous so this is not an ideal spot for swimming. Great restaurants surround this beach which is less busy than some other beaches.

La Bonfil has great waves for surfing but swimming is a little dangerous with the giant waves. Located between Puerto Marques and Revolcadero Beach, the vendors are less obvious and the beach quite peaceful. Hornos Beach is close to the center of town and has calm waves for swimming.

Besides the beaches one of the most well-known attractions in Acapulco is the Cliff Divers. Watch the divers perform some awesome stunts at La Quebrada and enjoy dinner and drinks. Fort San Diego is also well known, by locals and tourists, for the interesting exhibits the museum features. This is only one of the museums and historical landmarks featured on the Historical Tour. Zocalo is the main public square and center of the original part of Acapulco. Sundays are the best days for visiting, where you'll find plenty of places to eat and shop.
