I hear this same scenario time and time again from people who recently started a home business. They are upset and frustrated because they have been officially open and in business for several months but haven't received any orders. Their websites don't receive much traffic and their phones are not ringing off the hook. It's perfectly normal and understandable to feel stressed out and worried over all of this. All of this is very common concerns for a newly formed business, both online and off. It would be ideal to start a home business and start getting swamped with orders the moment you officially open, however that is not how the real world works. Rarely does a new home business turn into an immediate success. Most businesses take time to flourish and prosper.

Four years ago when I started my home business I felt the same way. Months had passed and not one order. I was so stressed out over that fact that I couldn't sleep at night because I was too busy thinking about my business and what I was doing wrong. Little did I know then that all of what I was going through was common for any new home business.

A friend of mine who had been in business for a few years at that time told me something that has carried me through all these years. She told me that when she first started her home business she experienced the same things I was going through. She told me that the first year she was in business she actually lost money because she spent a lot of money gathering supplies and equipment for her business and barely received so much as one order. The second year she was in business she said she started to get a few more orders and after the second year she pretty much broke even between her expenses and her profits. Then by her third year in business she told me things just started to boom and she was getting a tremendous amount of orders and actually profited a huge amount of money by the end of her third year. She told me that this was how things worked with most home businesses that she knew.

So what are some of the things you can do to help your business grow so that you will eventually have a very successful home business? Here are some tips you can try.

On top of letting your banker know - ask if you can leave some brochures! This is a great article!
