It is time, once again, to take a sneak peek at the movies that are scheduled to come out next month; in this case, November of 2008. There are some sequels like Transporter 3, Madagascar 2, and Daniel Craig's second turn as James Bond. There are even a couple of early Christmas releases. Let's take a look to see what Hollywood has to offer.

Scheduled for release on November 7, 2008:

Miramax Films offers The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, starring Vera Farmiga, Rupert Friend, Cara Horgan, Jack Scanlon, and David Thewlis. The movie is war drama about a young German boy who lives with his family in the Krakow concentration camps of Poland. While there, however, he makes friends with a little Jewish boy who is imprisoned there. They strike up a friendship that cross religious lines and nationalities. But is it enough to save either of the boys' lives?

In Killshot, Rosario Dawson joins together with Thomas Jane, Johnny Knoxville, Diane Lane, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Mickey Rourke for an action adventure thriller. In the film, a woman and her husband (Lane and Jane) find themselves the targets of killers after they unwittingly uncover an extortion plan. The discovery becomes deadly not only for them, but for many others as well.

Dreamworks Animation hopes for a repeat success with Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. This movie takes up where the last one left off with Alex, Gloria, Julien, Marty, Maurice, and Melman still stranded in Madagascar. But the penguins have repaired a crashed plane in hopes of facilitating the animals' escape. Unfortunately, the flight doesn't go quite the way it was planned. Instead of taking them back to their Central Park home, they end up in the wilds of Africa. Will they decide to stay there or is home still where the heart is?

Just saw the previews of "Boy In The Striped Pajamas" while seeing "The Secret Life of Bees" w/ my 8-yr old granddaughter. (which was a super excellent message film for Zoe on the topic of racism and strong, strong women). The beautiful preview of "Boy....." absolutely mesmerized me, but the prospect of seeing The Holocaust from the poignant perspective of the children may be more than my heart can bear. I'll need to hear more details from people who've seen it. It's great that you're giving us these "sneak previews"! Thanks!

Excellent job. It looks like moviegoers can look forward to what -- at least on the surface -- appear to be some pretty decent films.

I've been waiting for Killshot for a long time now, it was finished a long time ago. Repo actually looks damn interesting. The Bond flick looks halfway decent.Fanboys, geeze that one has been a long time coming to release as well. People have high expectations for The Road, supposed to be a good book.

I'm not a big movie wathcer, but Slumdog Millionaire sounds like it would be good. (I'll probably wait for your review, though, and then check the DVD out of the library!)
