The Best of Disney World: Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa is the largest of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts, and the most recent addition. The resort officially opened in May 2005, but completion of the entire resort is not expected until later in 2007. Themed after the upstate New York town of Saratoga Springs, a statue of a racehorse and jockey serves as the resort mascot. The lush, green grounds and open spaces at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort provide a peaceful getaway from the hurried pace of a day at the Disney parks.

The Facts

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa is divided into four distinct areas at this time, with a fifth area scheduled to open when the building is completed. The Springs area is closest to the main lobby, dining areas, resort store, and the main pool. The Paddocks and Carousel areas surround the main area, branching out around small lakes and walking paths. The Congress Park area is located near the water, facing the Downtown Disney area. Each area has its own smaller private pool and hot tub. Bus stops for Disney transportation to the four Disney parks, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, and Downtown Disney are located near each area. There is also a boat launch available for transportation to Downtown Disney that runs approximately every twenty minutes. The boat ride is a nice way to cruise along the water and watch the bright lights of Downtown Disney at night.
