I have several close friends and relatives who teach school.

One thing that many people don't seem to realize is that many teachers end up paying for a lot of classroom supplies themselves. While their individual schools pay for some things, their budget is limited. Most teachers want their students to have the best and so they will sacrifice and pay out-of-pocket for materials they think will benefit their classes.

It's no secret that teachers are not paid a mint, in terms of salaries, so anything they can find that will make their lives easier, save them expenses and assist them in offering something fun and innovative to their pupils will be appreciated.

There are a number of wonderful sites geared towards educators and their needs that have a multitude of practical resources to please any teacher.

Four of the best are as follows:

ABC Teach
http://abcteach.com/

There are good resources for teachers, parents and students here. Membership is amazingly reasonable, $35 for a one year membership, $60 for a two year membership.

You can pay by credit card on mail order.

ABC Teacher has lots of printable materials for grades K-8, including flashcards, clip art, resources for teaching foreign languages, book report forms, math activities, fun activities, puzzles, games and other special extras.

Busy Teacher's Cafe
http://www.busyteacherscafe.com/

Busy Teacher's Cafe is a site for those who teach grades K-6.

You can get free samples, worksheet packets, flash cards, activities and other instantly downloadable materials. They have links, book recommendations, teacher tips, support and many other helpful resources.

Primary Games Curriculum Guide
http://www.primarygames.com/curriculum/index.htm

Primary Games is a website that has educational games for kids. They offer a Curriculum Guide for teachers, so they can find math, science, social studies or language arts activities or game for their classroom.
