The Call of the Canyon located at 109 North Main Street Bowling Green, Ohio is a locally owned delicatessen that offers a variety of good food suitable for any palate. The menu offers grilled sandwiches, cold cuts, burritos, soups thru cheese cakes, cookies and pies, many of which are home made. Of the menu options you have to choose from there are, to name a few, the grilled Reuben on rye bread, a delicious turkey and bacon on sourdough with guacamole, cream cheese, lettuce and tomato, and the ever popular Dakota which consists of egg salad and bacon on toasted Dakota bread. The burritos, again to name a few, consist of the casa, bean, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and sour cream, or the combo which is all of the above along with either ground beef, beef strips or chicken. Their are also wraps which vary from a veggie to a chicken cordon bleu to the Gringo, ham, mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion. Of the daily soups you can choose from either the Cowboy Beans, meat chili, or veggie chili or the daily special which ranges from cream of potato, to cowboy wedding (Italian wedding), or the lobster bisque. There are also the home-made pies, such seasonal favorites as pumpkin, peach, apple or rhubarb, along with the standards such as a delectable peanut butter. The cheese cakes, many home made, vary from cherry or strawberry to Oreo or Hershey. Another big draw to the Call of the Canyon are the employees. A colorful blend of college students and townspeople alike. On any given day it is probably the owner, Sarah Foster, waiting on you or maybe doing the dishes in the back. You'll find the conversation to be as unique as the food.
