How to Have a High School Reunion with Your Friends

During the winter holiday vacation I was contacted through an email by my former high school teacher who was interested in having a small high school reunion or get together. The idea intrigued me and I thought it would give me an opportunity to reunite with some old faces and get reacquainted with old faces that I had not seen in years since I had graduated from high school. As a high school student, you tell your friends that you will get together when you are each in college and keep in touch. The sad reality is that most people, me included, do not keep in touch because of a variety of things, whether it is too much work, a job etc. People move on and when you stop speaking to a person over the phone or online, there comes no reason to get together with the person.
My teacher's email gave me the excuse to revisit my old high school that I had not seen in years. I was anxious to see how my friends were doing in college, what their grades were and what activates and organizations they had joined. It's rather funny how many of my friends joined similar organizations like me such as a fraternity and a College Democrats campus organization. I learned a lot just from that visit from seeing them. It really was a pleasure to see fresh faces I had not seen in years. It is one thing to talk to a person over the phone or online but it is quite another to see a person in front of you and how they have changed over the years. College and life shapes everyone and the conversation never gets boring because everyone has so much to talk about and so many stories to tell.
