The Democratic Party could decide to do the unthinkable, the most historical thing that this country has ever faced. And you know what? I don't think that this country is ready for it. Call me a heretic if you will, but if the Democratic Party puts together a presidential ticket of Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama, this country just might have another Civil War. A woman and a black man leading this nation - What are you crazy? Maybe just a little bit for thinking that this presidential ticket could win. I sincerely hope that a Hillary Clinton ticket with Barak Obama as the Vice President could win the election against a Republican ticket. I'm just not too sure or confident that it would happen. Numerous things would have to be in order for that presidential ticket to win.

First, Barak Obama must continue his unprecedented wave of popularity that he is having as the Senator of Illinois. Obama was able to win the Illinois election by a large majority and experts are saying that he is one of the most well liked and charismatic figures that the Democratic Party has had since Bill Clinton. Obama might just have that X-factor known as charisma that will more than make up for his inexperience. If Obama takes a hard line against the war which is gradually losing more and more support as the war drag on and soldiers and dying, Obama could have a very good shot as the party nominee for Vice President.

As for Hillary Clinton, she has been planning to run for president ever since she took the oath as Senator from NY. Although at first it seemed like she has no business being in politics because she had no previous political experience other than being the First Lady. However, because New York is a liberal state and almost always votes for the Democrat in state elections, Hillary Clinton was able to win the election in part because she got the Republican women to vote for her and because of her popularity.

I believe that Obama is not qualified to be are President because:He is not experiened enough lets look at it for a employers point of view do you want to hire somebody who's had prior experience (at least 6 - 10 years)in their profession or do you want someone who On the Job Training? I.E who do you want picking the phone when sh!t hits the fan someone who's been under pressure and knows how to act accordingly or someone who doesn't have a clue how to handle the Situation and people get killed as a result. I Believe John McCain is qualified to be are President, and I am a rgistered Dem. I know all politicians are alike but John McCain has kept his promise on accepting the Public Funds,as Obama has not opting to raise his own money which I feel leaves him open to third part interests and will bend over backwards six ways to sunday to get the Cash. The Public funding is paid by tax money, so I ask the Question, Why is Obama asking the Cash Strapped citizens of The USA for Money?

Why is it you have Hillary clinton on the top of the ticke when barrack Obama has more delegates than she does. Except for the fact that she is to egotistical to accept the fact that she is second best. obama for president and I hope he doesn't choose her for v.p. If he does I will still vote for him

The ticket couldnt work. For one, their both Senators. America has been electing governors on a regular basis now and seem to like having someone with executive experience going into the White House. I think Hillary will get the nomination, and she will then have to pick a governor as running mate. Somebody would can bring in some young votes, but carry the midwest or the south. Hillary would no question carry Arkansas in the general, but she would need some of the other states. Her VP pick would need to balance the ticket in some way, Obama just couldnt do it. The only reason why woudl be Hillarys vp is if the party split. But that wont happen. I think he would do great in serving Hillarys administration in some compacity. Theres no question the mans smart, which is why his talents should be utilized in some fashion. Hillary is going to win this thing, and shes gonna be a great president!

Did not realize I read this article before. The psyche of the people. A dual run for Presidency might work if it were Obama for Pres with Hillary as VP. Hillary would not accept that position and I doubt that Obama would accept being 2nd in charge under her. I am not sure any Senator is qualified to run the country because they have not worked together for the good of the US by impeaching Bush and Cheney.

I believe Hillary voted for the Patriot Act, which is anything but Patriotic. The Constitution was built to assure citizen's freedoms and the Bush administration has chosen to override it. I think voting records should be the main issue. Politicians talk, but it's more important what they've done, as an indicator of how well they will serve in our best interests. I'd like to Cynthia McKinney on the ballot. Then we could have our first woman, and first black president at the same time. Now that would go down in history!

Wow thank you all for your comments, even if some of them i disagree with. i just published this article and didnt expect 11 comments already. I apologize, i meant Christianity as a religions like Episcopalians and Presbyterian have had 21 presidents. My point was that the U.S. has never had a Jewish president or even a Muslim president. Its interesting for Juidsiams that the Congress is more than 10 percent Jewish people but the U.S. has never had a Jewish prez or VP. My reference to Obama's voting record was that Senators often vote for issues that are unclear at the time. For example, how many Dem senators Okayed the Iraq war? Almost all of them including hillary but not Obama. Obama is charasmatic and is honest but charisma affects the American public a whole lot more than honesty. McCain will not win any election for prez let along Republican primaries if he keeps up hiswar stance on increasing troops levels which the public is dead set against. Rudy i agree has no shot and Republ

lol, McCain will NOT take a backseat to Condi - no way... If McCain was President, he'd be the oldest ever elected. It's now or never for him. Hillary isn't my favorite, but she's going to have the money and a lot of bright people running her campaign. By the way, Condi Rice probably wouldn't be a bad President. She is moderate, pro-choice, and I think she's frustrated with the way things have gone in this administration and the war. Get her away from Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Negroponte doctrine and she may surprise everyone.

No quiestion here. Clinton/ Obama is, in my mind, the presumptive ticket. The GOP will put up Condi/McCain (Condi as the lead) and the whole election will be about who is blackest. Black America will be out in force like never before. Sadly, Condi will win.

AJ>> Yeah, the republicans pretty much have no chance. Honestly tho, conservatives WILL vote in droves for Rudy or McCain if Hillary is the opponent. John Edwards and Obama have a better chance against a liberal-republican, despite both of them oozing with the slimy condescending snot of slick used-car-salesman politics. Oh, and I dont care for Mitt Romney either, not sure why anyone is even paying attention to him. Basically, the Dems will prolly win w/ anyone.

Well, first of all it depends who the Republicans put up... McCain is sinking pretty fast, and Giuliani is so socially moderate conservatives won't elect him, hence why he clings to 9/11. George Allen was history with "Macaca" let alone losing the VA Senate race. That leaves who, Mitt Romney? - a mormon from the most liberal state in the country who rails against gay marriage to prove his conservative convictions?... Simply put, it's the Republicans that will have an identity crisis in 2008, not the Democrats.... and speaking of "experience" President Bush wasn't even governor for two full terms, and had ZERO foreign policy experience before becoming President...Right now, Barack Obama probably has more experience in politics then George W. Bush had when he became President.

I would vote for Hillary and if Bill could run I would vote for him again. The good old days!

>>>"Presidents in the United States have remained constant, being white male Catholics.">> whoa, you lost some credibility there. JFK was the ONLY catholic president in the history of the USA. >>>"Obama might just have that X-factor known as charisma that will more than make up for his inexperience.">>> It's too bad that "charisma" rather than honesty and integrity is more highly prized. People complain that they hate politicians, but then they just love the guys who are really good at being a "politician" >>>"The reason why Senators usually don't win when they run for president is because opponents attack their voting record on controversial issues.">>> Perhaps their voting record says something about the candidate? So your solution is to elect the guy who we dont know anything about? Sounds like a winner to me

Since I'm politically moderate - the idea of a Clinton/Obama ticket just kind of leaves me cold. That said - I have to question a couple of points: First - the majority of US Presidents, while all white males, have not been Catholics. In fact, Catholics are very low on the list. Second - When quoting about "almost every third world nation" - I'd like to see the list. I'm not against either a woman or a black as president or vice president. In fact, I think it's high time that gender and race become nothing more than physical characteristics and not judgment points.
