Armenia Fest - Carrollton, Texas

Armenia is slightly larger than Maryland, according to state.gov. The country is known for elaborate folk costumes as well and is the smallest of the former soviet republics. Ninety-four percent of residents practice the Armenian Apostolic religion and the ancient country is said to be making a comeback this century. Armenia is known as a beautiful country with sophisticated people and a long history, according to research.

Located at 1805 Random Road just east of I-35 between Beltline and Keller Springs, the free Texas event takes places 5-10 p.m. Friday, 10-10 Sat., and 10-5 Sun.

In unrelated event news, Downtown Sundown takes place on 15th Street between K Avenue and J Place in Plano starting Oct. 11, 5:30-9:30 p.m. every second Saturday for free. All of North Texas is invited to see what downtown is all about during this evening of food, entertainment, and shopping.

The Texas Ballet Theater will perform "Mozart's Requiem" Oct. 17-19 at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth at 330 E. 4th Street downtown in the Sundance Square district. The troupe was voted best dance performance last year. (Source: Fort Worth Weekly).
