Project Runway Season 5 Season Finale Part One
Project Runway Season 5 Episode 13, the first part of the season finale of the hit fashion design competition show aired last night, with a few surprises. For the first time ever fans already know that this season's
Project Runway winner will be a woman. There are no men in the finale of Project Runway, after Jerell was eliminated last night on Project Runway Season 5 Episode 13.
As has been a Project Runway tradition since Season 3, the judges allowed the four remaining designers to move forward after the fiasco that was week 12. None of the Project Runway fashion designers really stepped up and showed their best work. Had the final three been decided based on that episode, Kenley would certainly not be going to Fashion Week.
Project Runway Season 5 Episode 13: Tim Gunn Goes Visiting
Tim Gunn checks in with the remaining four contestants a few weeks before Fashion Week, to check on their collections. When he saw Jerell Scott's collection, he advised Jerell to do some editing. Tim rightly told Jerell that he needed to take some embellishments away from his garments. Previously, when Tim had told Jerell the same thing, Jerell did not listen and he won a challenge.
Jerell did not take Tim's advice again, and this time it cost him a spot at New York Fashion Week.
Project Runway Season 5 Episode 13: The Wedding Gowns
As part of their Fashion Week collections, the Project Runway fashion designers were asked to design a wedding dress to go with their collection. The wedding dress was going to determine their fate. The three fashion designers with the highest scoring wedding dress would move on to show their collections at Fashion Week, and the fourth was sent home.
Korto's Wedding Dress
Korto did some fashion-forward designing on Project Runway Season 5, including her seat belt coat in the Saturn challenge. She had a tendency to overwork her designs, pleating and sewing too much, in the same way that Jerell would over-embellish.
Korto referred to her wedding dress in Project Runway Season 5 Episode 13 as simple. The dress was not simple, and the color was a delicate Champagne that looked more red carpet than wedding aisle.
