Wide angle lens capability is great for photographing property. Not only can you capture a much broader view, but you can do it without standing a block away! This enables you to get everything you really want in the picture without all of the unnecessary and unwanted stuff in the foreground.

If you already have a digital camera, you might check to see if it can be equipped with a wide angle converter lense. If not, or if you plan to purchase a new digital camera, you may want to explore one with a 28mm lense.

Composing Real Estate Photos

Although there are no real rules set in stone, there are a few basics to keep in mind in order to achieve optimum results when photographing real estate property.

Before taking the photo, be sure to check the LCD screen or viewfinder to see how photo will appear. It's a good idea to make checking a habit. Doing so may save you a few unnecessary trips for "retakes."

Be sure to shoot the property from several vantage points so you don't miss anything important. Try different positions and don't forget to check the LCD screen before snapping the shot.
