The recent onset of new information exposing Obama's ties to Bill Ayers, an unrepentant american terrorist cannot be denied. It has me deeply concerned about what grounds Obama supporters base their votes. Obviously, these votes cannot be based on something so inherently important to us as our very own national security. If we plan on keeping this great land of ours a safe place for our children and grandchildren to live and thrive, how can we put someone in the highest office in the land, that has such dangerous associations within his circles?

National security should be a primary focus for us as voters if we want to be able to continue our comfy lives here in our great land, shouldn't it? How can we go to the polls voting for someone with so many anti-american associations such as Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, and Fr. Flager? And what about Michelle Obama's relationship with Bill Ayers wife? Are we really willing to put our national security at such a huge risk? Why? Hasn't this land been good to us? I can't understand how anyone voting democratic this time around can do it in good conscience knowing who this man rubs elbows with! We HAVE to think more highly of our great nation that that right?

Well, maybe not. For me its about the big possibility of having any one of my kids out and about anywhere within U.S. borders and suddenly having a bomb go off bringing them and anyone near or with them to their demise. THAT'S REALITY PEOPLE!! It's happened to us before without people such as this in office. But, we're going to go a step further to ACTUALLY put someone with associations linked to these activities in our highest U.S. position? How INSANE is that?

I'm not a democrat anyway, but John Kerry didn't scare me half as much as Obama does. Kerry did not have this sort of background tagging along with his name. Nor did Gore. I was still worried about national security when these 2 men were running for office against Bush, but Obama is just wayyyyy over the top here on this issue.

Your political articles show a lot of passion. It's obvious you care deeply about what happens with our country. Great job, Lyn. :-)

Carol...I seriously doubt that Obama WOULD express any "sympathy" for Ayers...that would be political suicide, but this man has a consistent pattern of rubbing elbows with VERY disturbing anti-american people....I can read between the lines... others should try doing the same..

I looked it up on snopes, it looks like a conservative smeer campaign http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/04/us/politics/04ayers.html?_r=1&oref=slogin here is an excerpt 63. But the two men do not appear to have been close. Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers, whom he has called "somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8." Obama campaign aides said the Ayers relationship had been greatly exaggerated by opponents to smear the candidate.

You raise the kind of legitimate questions that many Americans are asking. Unfortunately, Obama's supporters want to silence folks like yourself who simply want a little reassurance. If he has nothing to hide, then why not address these concerns head on? Suspicion keeps growing because his official story doesn't seem to line up with the facts. More and more documents, records and first hand testimonies are surfacing making it appear that he has not been truthful on several issues. Hopefully, voters will be given the whole story so they can make an informed decision.

I agree and this has been my cry the whole time. Jack, I am not the least fearful about raising my kids in a "fearmonger" household. I plan to raise them to be aware of what to be afraid of such as terrorism, crime, etc. I am edcuated and know the difference between your and you're. How said that you think a grammatical error means one cannot make a wise decision based on one's convictions. I guess when one can't convince through stand, one must demean.

Go Jack Go!! Like I said in the article....INSANE!!

I think you should be more concerned about your child growing up in a household with a mentally unstable fear monger, who doesn't know the difference between you're and your.

Your right JP, he knows the folks listening to him are not serious about looking into what his record is and checking out the fact that there is NO WAY he can keep these moronic promises....get smart folks, he's counting on you being less than that!

Excellent article. I'm glad it was said, and quite well said might I add. Obama promises aren't ones that are keepers. He promises to reform health insurance so no one has pre existing conditions clauses, and yet, why would anyone sign up for health insurance if they weren't there? You have to have a number of healthy people paying premiums in order to offset the ill, otherwise you might as well pay your own bills because the premiums would be astronomical. That is just ONE promise he can't keep. My father ran for county auditor several decades ago against a democrat. The county was primarily democratic (So much so, I applied for a minority scholarship in college because of the republican affiliation) That "Democrat" promised to save the social security system. Now, how in God's green earth was THAT going to be done by a county auditor? Obama is using the same tactics.

Thanks for a different perspective, Lynn. I'm tired of everything being one-sided. I want to view all differing points of view.
