Our homes tend to generate clutter on occasion. Some homes are more prone to clutter than others are, but despite the amount of clutter, homes tend to gather it. It has been found that if a home is cluttered and disorganized it could lead to stress, anxiety, and damper the time that we have available everyday because we often have to look for items and/or spend more time cleaning. In this article, I will review steps that one may take in order to clear the clutter in the home. You may even find these steps helpful if you do not have a lot of clutter in your home.

When you decide to clear the clutter in your home, it is important to have a plan. Many professionals in this area state that you should work on one room at a time. Many also suggest that you should start in the room that you use the most. I take a different approach. I have two small children in my home, so it is often not convenient or reasonable to attack a whole room at a time. One day I may commit to cleaning out and organizing a dresser, a closet, or cabinets. I find it easier to sort through my home in this manner. These seem to be areas that attract the most clutter in my home. Last week, I cleaned out the bathroom closet and a large shelf in my room. I ended up throwing away quite a bit that it not regularly used and organizing the rest. One thing I did to get more room was I took all the video games, CD's, and DVD's that were in the house, purchased a very large zip up binder that was made to place CD's and the such in them, put all of them in that and boxed up the cases for future use if necessary. You can quite possibly store hundreds of CD's and such in an organizer like these and free up a lot of space in your home. As for the cases, if you are familiar with making personalized DVD's and CD's, you can use the cases to put these in and give them as gifts throughout the year to various family members and friends. Maybe you know a couple and you would like to make a personalized DVD with various pictures as a keepsake for Valentine's Day or their Anniversary. Instead of going out and spending $10.00 on a pack of cases for DVD's, you can simply recycle the ones that you pack away and save a lot of money.

This is a great article. I think I have more clutter than I can handle. I have had yardsale, donated, and threw thing out yet I still find myself making my way through things. I think the biggest part of my problem is throwing away things that I have had a long time that I really have absolutely no use for.
