I hate the ammonia smell of regular Windex, so at my last trip to the store for cleaning products I started looking for a better smelling product. I usually use Method Glass Cleaner, but for really heavy duty cleaning products I need the cleaning power of Windex. On the bottom of the store shelf I found a product called "Windex Multi-Task." I had never heard of a Windex that did anything but clean glass, but this one had a nice "Sparkling Lime" scent- so I went ahead and bought it. The Windex Multi-Task cost me $4, and I was excited to try it out.I first tried the Windex Multi-Task on my sliding glass door. It took the impressions from the window decals I had previously had up off, but unfortunately it left streaks. The product also left streaks on my other glass surfaces including my mirrors. The only way I could get Windex Multi-Task to not leave streaks was to clean everything with it twice, and to use newspaper instead of paper towels. This really disappointed me, because I am so used to streak-free Windex products! On a positive note, the Windex Multi-Task did really smell like "Sparkling Lime" and it was a great change from the usual Windex scent!
Since the product was called Multi-Task I decided to try it on my kitchen counters. On the bottle it claims to "Cut grease, clean glass, and more!" I found that while the Windex Multi-Task does cut grease, it also leaves a filmy residue. I tried it on my toilets, showers, and bathroom counters as well. Although it did clean all of these surfaces very well, it left that icky residue that I had to wash off with water. It says nothing about rinsing surfaces after you clean them on the bottle, so I was amazed that Windex Multi-Task required this.
Another problem with my Windex Multi-Task was that the spray cap constantly came loose. It would come off as I was holding it, and the stuff would get all over my hands! The only reason I didn't mind this as much as I would have with regular Windex is because of the great "Sparkling Lime" scent. This was probably just a problem with my particular bottle of Windex Multi-Task, but I felt I had to mention it!

A generic glass cleaner. Windex Multi-Task actually comes in a nifty clear bottle!
