I'm a clean freak, and toilets are one of the things I have to clean at least 3 times a week. I used to use a traditional toilet brush with regular cleaner, but then I found out that this just pushes germs around. Then I got one of those brushes with the detachable head that you toss after each cleaning, but that was costly because of the replacement heads. Then I saw a commercial for Lysol Power Toilet Bowl Cleaner with Bleach. The cleaner claimed to be a gel-substance cleaner that would stick to your toilet, kill germs, and "brighten as it cleans." I really wanted a break from the good old toilet brush, so I decided to try out Lysol Power Toilet Bowl Cleaner. When I got to the store, I was surprised to find out that the cleaner costs more than many others of it's type. Lysol Power Toilet Bowl Cleaner cost me $5 for 24 fluid ounces at my local Wal-Mart. When I got home with the cleaner, I decided I'd try it out right away. I started by reading the directions, as I always do. The directions say to "flush toilet to remove excess dirt and pour 6 ounces of product to completely coat the sides of the bowl and under the rim. Let the product soak for five minutes, do not close the lid. Brush entire bowl to wet surfaces thoroughly, including under the rim, and flush." I was moderately upset to find out that I would still have to use a brush in my toilet bowl cleaning endeavor, but I had pretty much expected as much. I started out by opening the cap of the Lysol Power Toilet Bowl Cleaner, and was surprised to find it was not easy! The cleaner is outfitted with a child resistant cap, and you have to squeeze both sides and twist to open the product. When I finally got it open, some of the cleaner burst out on my shirt. This immediately stained my shirt with bleach- so make sure you don't spill any of this potent cleaner on any fabric in your home when you are using it! Also, you should probably wear gloves when using Lysol Power Toilet Bowl Cleaner with Bleach because if you get too much on your skin it will cause a chemical burn.
