Life as a Military Wife - an Army of Mom

Being a military wife is extremely gratifying. It is the closest you can come short of being an actual military member. A military wife wears many hats, especially once you have children. The military life is very rewarding when you think about what your husband is doing serving his Country. Being a military family and particularly a military wife you develop a great deal of patriotism. A military wife teaches her family and even friends the value of being associated with the military. A military family forms a special bond with other military families and often times develop strong friendships that last through the many moves, distance and circumstances. When you are a military wife, you find other military families and often time form a substitute family as you are often far away from your own family and rely on your close friends during a time of need.

Being a military wife often times leaves you the head of the household while your loved one is serving overseas or is traveling a great deal with their job. It is often times joked that when the men are away, something is sure to happen, and more than often than not, that becomes the case. Whether it is issues with your home, car or health issues with your child, a military wife has no choice but to rely on her fellow military wives to help you hold your family together when issues arises.

While being a military wife has many advantages, and you are able to travel and see parts of the country and even the world you would not ordinarily see, it is also one of the toughest jobs a person can have. Kudos to the military wives out there holding their families and their friend's families together while their husbands can go out and serve and protect our Country. While it is not an easy job, the military person could not succeed in their job without you.
