Synopsis: Booth and Bones investigate the murder of a popular female pastor who was once a man.

What I liked about this episode: I have to admit, trying to figure out the past of a woman who hasn't always been a woman is definitely a unique case; especially since it isn't really clear whether she was actually murdered or if it was an accident (she had gone swimming and disappeared). And, if she was murdered, was it because a parishioner found out her secret or was it because of something she did when she was a man?

The spiritual discussion about whether or not having an alteration like that is a sin is one that definitely gets you thinking; especially considering the victim's profession. And, the idea of redemption both for the minister and her son is definitely inspiring.

What I didn't like about the episode: Once again, the method of death (being hit by a boat) is a bit boring. And, the show tries unsuccessfully to make up for the absence of Zack by bringing in yet another annoying intern who doesn't work out at the end. I mean, honestly, if you can't replace him then why try? It's not like these interns are helping any.

And, while the spiritual discussion regarding sex change operations did get me thinking a bit, I have to say I'm getting a bit bored with Booth and Bones being at odds over their religious beliefs (or lack of in Bones' case) in almost every episode. Can't the writers think of something else for them to disagree over?

Final Opinion: This was a somewhat interesting episode but the series, in general, is starting to get a bit repetitive and that takes away from the overall quality.

On a scale from one to 10: I'm going to give this episode a 7.

I saw this episode also & again have to agree with what you say. I don't know what these producers are thinking when writing these shows but I wish they would put a little more thought into them. Nice review
