The Greensboro, NC Childrens Musem

Come one and come all! The Greensboro Childrens Musem has activities for kids and adults of all ages! The musem is located in downtown Greensboro, NC. Whether you want to visit for a couple of hours, or the entire day, there will be plenty of things to keep you busy.

The museum is set up as a small town. What is in your town? Is there a bank? How about a grocery store? The museum has that, too! Each area of the museum is set up so that little and big minds alike can imagine, create, play and learn. Once inside the museum, you can visit the grocery store, the town bank, the dentist, post office and many other areas.

The grocery store is sponsored by Lowes Foods and gives an ample amount of room and materials for play. Working cash registers with play money, child sized carts, weekly advertisements and like-real foods all create an area that visitors enjoy.

The town bank allows its customers to make ATM transactions with deposit slips and bank cards, learn about money and put together giant money puzzles.

In the doctors office you will find dress up clothes, prescription pads, an exercise area and a scale to weigh your patients. There is even a bed for the patient. A skeleton is available to look at the different bones in our bodies. Inside the dentist office, visitors can sit in the dentist chair and get their pearly whites checked. There are toothbrushes and "mouths" for practicing brushing. Both areas have access to x-ray films for viewing.

Visit the theatre and put on a show for the audience. Dig through the chest and put on a costume. You can be a princess, an animal, a doctor, and really anything else that you want to be. Get dressed, set the lighting, and head for the stage!

In the construction zone, children and adults can build whatever they choose. With many different types of blocks and building supplies available, the sky is the limit in this area of the museum.

Did I hear you say you wanted to play house? Great! The museum has just the place for you. There is a house inside the museum that has food, dishes, furniture and everything else so that visitors can play house. Sit in the rocking chair on the front porch or cook up a big pot of stew.
