It's winter! Don't let the coldest season of the year make you think you have to stay cooped up inside. Here are some great ideas for winter activities in the St. Louis area...

~ The Steinberg Skating Rink
Skating at the Mark C. Steinberg Skating Rink has been a winter tradition in the St. Louis are a since it opened in 1957. All skill levels and ages are welcome, and the rink is open from November to March, depending on the weather.

The Steinberg Skating Rink is open Sunday-Thursday from 10 am to 9 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 10 am to midnight. The cost to skate is $6 for adults, and $5 for children 12 and under, and covers the entire day's skating. (Season passes are also available.) Skate rental is $2 per pair.

Don't know how to skate yet? Take lessons! A new session starts at the Steinberg Skating Rink on January 16th and runs for six weeks on Tuesdays. The cost for skating lessons is $30. Children's lesson start at 6pm and adults start at 7pm. Remember this is an outdoor rink, so dress warmly and wear your gloves!

Season Passes--$90 adult and $75 12 & under
10-Day Passes--$48 adult and $40 12 & under
Exercise Passes--$30 valid only M-F from 10am-2pm

Take a break from skating and visit the Steinberg Café; with a full food service menu that includes appetizers, snacks, sandwiches, burgers and pizza.

Directions to Steinberg Skating Rink:
From I-40: Exit Kingshighway North. At first stop light, turn Left into the Park. Make first Right into Steinberg Skating Rink Parking Area.
From I-44: Exit Kingshighway North. Travel North on Kingshighway past highway 40. At first stop light after highway 40 overpass, turn Left into the Park. Make first Right into Steinberg Skating Rink Parking Area.
From I-55: Take 55 to 44 West and follow above directions.

I would love some advice I live in St.Louis and I work with the mentally disabled Im tring to find some fun acctiveties that's enexpensive to do with them. Thank you Shanna

These all sound like fun.We love to spend the day playing in the snow and then relaxing with some hot chocolate.

Very well written. Simply of no use to me over here in California. I wish it would snow here.
